Getting There

  • Car

    Assuming you are starting from the Island in the Sky Visitor Center, head south on the main park road. Drive approximately 24 miles until you reach the turnoff for the Needles District (you will see signposts for the Needles). Turn left onto UT-211 and follow it for about 8 miles. You will reach the Needles Entrance Station where you will need to pay an entrance fee if you haven't already done so (currently $30 per vehicle valid for 7 days). After entering the park, continue on UT-211 until you reach the Squaw Flat Campground area, which is a good place to park. From here, locate the trailhead for the Druid Arch hike.

  • Hiking

    The hike to Druid Arch begins at the Squaw Flat Campground. Follow the marked trail that starts near the campground. The hike is approximately 3.5 miles one way (7 miles round trip) and can take around 4-5 hours to complete, depending on your pace. The trail ascends gradually and eventually leads you to the base of Druid Arch, offering stunning views along the way. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as sturdy hiking shoes.

    Currently, there are no direct public transportation options available to reach Druid Arch within Canyonlands National Park.
