Getting There

• Car

  From the heart of Dixie National Forest, head south on US-89 S for approximately 23 miles. After reaching the intersection with UT-18, turn left onto UT-18 S and continue for about 11 miles. Watch for signs for Gunlock State Park. Turn right onto Gunlock Rd, and follow it for about 1 mile until you reach the park entrance.

• Public Transportation + Car

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus from major nearby towns like St. George to the nearest bus stop to Gunlock (check local schedules for availability). You may need to arrange for a rideshare service or taxi from the bus stop to Gunlock State Park, which is roughly 8 miles away from the nearest bus stop. Make sure to confirm the fare with the rideshare driver or taxi before departing.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous cyclist, you can bike from parts of Dixie National Forest. Ensure you are adequately prepared for the distance. Head south on US-89 S, then turn left onto UT-18 S. The journey is approximately 34 miles, and you will need to navigate traffic carefully as you approach Gunlock Rd.   If you're camping in the nearby areas of Dixie National Forest, many campsites are within walking distance of Gunlock State Park.
