Car
If you are starting from St. George, head north on I-15. Take exit 6 for UT-18 toward Hurricane. Continue on UT-18 for approximately 17 miles until you reach the intersection with UT-59. Take a left onto UT-59 and follow it for about 12 miles. You will then turn left onto Pine Valley Road (also known as Forest Road 035). Follow Pine Valley Road for about 8 miles until you reach the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness area. There are signs that will guide you to the trailheads.
Public Transportation
Public transportation may be limited in this area, so it is recommended to use a combination of bus services and ride-sharing applications. From St. George, take the SunTran bus (Route 1) to the Hurricane area. Once in Hurricane, use a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft to reach Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness, as there are no direct public transit routes. The ride from Hurricane to the wilderness area will take approximately 30-40 minutes, covering roughly 12 miles.
Hiking (if already in Pine Valley)
If you are already in the Pine Valley area, there are multiple hiking trails that lead into the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness. From the Pine Valley Campground, follow the marked trails that head northeast into the wilderness. Ensure you have a map and sufficient supplies, as some trails can be remote and challenging.
