Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Escalante, head south on Main Street towards Highway 12. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Highway 12. Turn left onto Highway 12 and proceed to follow the highway for approximately 26 miles. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the Boulder Mail Trailhead, which is located near the town of Boulder. Once you reach the Boulder area, look for a pull-off or signage indicating the Boulder Mail Trailhead, where you can begin your hike.

• Biking

  Starting from the Escalante Visitor Center, bike south on Main Street towards Highway 12. Continue on Main Street, which will turn into Highway 12. Follow the highway for about 26 miles, enjoying the scenic views along the way. As you approach Boulder, watch for the Boulder Mail Trailhead signs. There should be a designated area for parking and accessing the trail.

• Hitchhiking

  From Escalante, find a safe spot along Highway 12 where you can signal for a ride. Stand near the junction of Main Street and Highway 12, and wait for a vehicle heading towards Boulder. Once you are picked up, let the driver know you are going to the Boulder Mail Trailhead. The driver will take you along Highway 12 for about 26 miles and drop you off at the trailhead area near Boulder.
