Hiking
From the center of Escalante, start at the Escalante Visitor Center located at 755 West Main Street. Head east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Highway 12. Turn left onto Highway 12 and continue walking for approximately 2.5 miles until you see the entrance to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument on your right. Follow the signs for the Tunnel Slot trailhead, which is located about 1.5 miles down the road. The trailhead is not marked with a sign, so look for a small parking area and a trailhead marker. Once at the trailhead, follow the path leading into the slot canyon.
