Walking
From the center of Mt. Carmel, head south on US-89. After about 0.5 miles, you'll reach the intersection with UT-9. Turn left onto UT-9, heading east. Continue on UT-9 for approximately 8 miles. You'll pass through the town of Springdale. Once in Springdale, look for signs directing you to Zion National Park. The entrance to the park is located on the right. After entering the park, continue driving until you reach the Big Bend Viewpoint, which is marked along the main road. Note that the viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the canyon and is a popular spot for photos.
Biking
Starting from Mt. Carmel, rent a bike from a local shop. Head south on US-89 for about 0.5 miles and then turn left onto UT-9. Continue straight on UT-9 for around 8 miles, enjoying the scenic views along the way. As you arrive in Springdale, stay on UT-9 until you see the signs for Zion National Park. Enter the park and follow the road to Big Bend Viewpoint. Remember to bike safely and stay aware of traffic, especially in busier areas.
Hiking
For an adventurous option, you can hike towards Big Bend Viewpoint. Starting in Mt. Carmel, take a trail heading south into the Zion area. Be sure to have a map or GPS device, as the trails can vary in difficulty. The hike to Big Bend Viewpoint will require good physical condition and proper hiking gear. It may take several hours depending on your pace and the route you choose. Always check trail conditions and park regulations before setting out.
