Walking
From the center of Mt. Carmel, head east on State Route 9 (E. Main Street) towards the intersection with State Route 89. It’s about a 0.5-mile walk. Once you reach the intersection, turn left (north) onto State Route 89. Continue walking along State Route 89 for approximately 8 miles. You will pass through scenic landscapes and small settlements. After approximately 8 miles, keep an eye out for the sign for Henrieville, which will be on your right. Turn onto Panorama Trail. Follow Panorama Trail for about 1 mile until you reach the trailhead for Secret Passage. The trailhead is not well marked, so look for signs indicating the entrance to the trail.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle in Mt. Carmel and start your journey by heading east on State Route 9 (E. Main Street). Continue for 0.5 miles to the intersection with State Route 89, then turn left (north) onto State Route 89. The ride to Henrieville is approximately 8 miles, and it’s a scenic route with some inclines, so prepare accordingly. Once you reach Henrieville, look for the sign for Panorama Trail on your right. Turn onto Panorama Trail and bike for about 1 mile until you find the trailhead for Secret Passage. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay cautious of traffic on the road.
Public Transportation
Currently, there are no direct public transportation options from Mt. Carmel to Secret Passage. However, you can take a shuttle service that may run to nearby towns. Check local listings or ask at your accommodation about shuttle services to Henrieville. Once you arrive in Henrieville, follow the walking instructions provided earlier to reach the trailhead. Note that shuttle services may require advance booking and may not operate frequently.
