Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the main area of Snowbird Ski Resort. Head east on Little Cottonwood Canyon Road (UT-210) and continue for about 3 miles. Look for signs indicating Big Cottonwood Canyon Road. Merge onto Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (UT-190) and drive approximately 2 miles. You will see the Ledgemere Picnic Area on your right. There is no entry fee for the picnic area, but ensure you have a valid parking pass if required.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the UTA Ski Bus (Route 953) from various points in Salt Lake City to Snowbird Ski Resort. Once you arrive at Snowbird, you can either walk or use a rideshare service to reach Ledgemere Picnic Area. The picnic area is about 1.5 miles from the resort. Follow the same route as the car instructions, heading east on Little Cottonwood Canyon Road, then merging onto Big Cottonwood Canyon Road.
Walking
If you're already in the Snowbird area and prefer to walk, head east on Little Cottonwood Canyon Road from the main resort area. Take care to walk along the shoulder and watch for traffic. Continue for about 3 miles until you reach the junction with Big Cottonwood Canyon Road. Turn right onto Big Cottonwood Canyon Road (UT-190) and walk about 2 miles. The Ledgemere Picnic Area will be on your right. This option is suitable for those who enjoy hiking and want to take in the scenery.
