Exploring the Rich Heritage of Silver Reef Museum and Ghost Town

Getting There

• Walking

  From downtown St. George, start at the St. George Town Square. Head east on East 100 South Street toward South Main Street. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach South Main Street. Turn left onto South Main Street and walk for another 0.4 miles until you reach East 700 South Street. Turn right onto East 700 South Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with South River Road. Cross South River Road and continue straight onto East 900 South Street. Walk along East 900 South Street until you reach South 1400 East Street. This will lead you into the residential area. From there, proceed north until you reach Wells Fargo Road. Turn right onto Wells Fargo Road and follow it until you see the Silver Reef Museum / Ghost Town on your left at 1903 Wells Fargo Rd, Leeds, UT 84746. The total walking distance is approximately 2.5 miles and may take about 50 minutes.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can make your way to Silver Reef Museum / Ghost Town more quickly. Start at the St. George Town Square and head east on East 100 South Street toward South Main Street. Turn left on South Main Street and continue for about 0.5 miles. Take a right on East 700 South Street and then a left on South River Road. Follow South River Road north until you reach East 900 South Street and turn left. Continue on East 900 South Street and then follow it until you turn right onto South 1400 East Street. From there, continue north until you reach Wells Fargo Road. Turn right and follow Wells Fargo Road for approximately 1.5 miles until you arrive at the museum. The total distance is around 3 miles, which should take about 15-20 minutes by bike.

• Public Transit

  To reach Silver Reef Museum / Ghost Town using public transit, start by taking the Suntran bus from the St. George Town Square. Board the Route 1 bus heading towards the St. George Regional Airport. Get off at the stop at South Main Street and East 700 South Street. From there, walk north on South Main Street for about 0.4 miles until you reach East 900 South Street. Turn right onto East 900 South Street and continue until you reach South 1400 East Street. Follow South 1400 East Street north until you reach Wells Fargo Road. Turn right onto Wells Fargo Road and walk until you arrive at the museum. The total travel time, including waiting for the bus, could take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
