If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, such as St. George, UT. Head northeast on I-15 N and take exit 16 for UT-9 E toward Hurricane. Continue on UT-9 E for approximately 25 miles, following the signs for Zion National Park. Turn left onto Leeds Main Street, then take a right onto Creek Kiln Trail. Follow Creek Kiln Trail until you reach The Kiln, which will be marked along the trail. There is no fee to access this area, but parking may be limited.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a Greyhound or other intercity bus service to St. George, UT. From St. George, you can use a local taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the Leeds area. Once in Leeds, you will need to secure a taxi or rideshare to drive you to Creek Kiln Trail, as public transportation does not extend to that area. Ensure to confirm the cost with your driver, as it may vary.
Hiking
If you are already within Dixie National Forest and prefer a hiking route, identify a nearby trailhead. You can access Creek Kiln Trail from various points within the forest. Make sure to have a trail map or use a GPS, as the trails can be interconnected. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as this is a remote area. The hike to The Kiln from the nearest trailhead is approximately 2 miles and should take about an hour. No entry fee is required for hiking.
