Getting There

• Car

  From Sundance, head southeast on Provo Canyon Rd (UT-189) for about 5.5 miles. You'll pass scenic views and can stop at various points along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the entrance to the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area. Turn left onto the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway (UT-92) and follow the signs toward the Timpanogos Cave National Monument. After about 2.5 miles, look for the Stewart Falls Trailhead parking area on your right. There is a parking fee of $6 per vehicle, which can be paid at the kiosk.

• Public Transportation

  From Sundance, you would need to take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to Provo. The closest public transport options are in Provo, where you can take a Utah Transit Authority (UTA) bus. However, there is no direct bus service to Stewart Falls. It is recommended to take a rideshare service or rent a car for convenience as public transport might not reach the trailhead directly. Taxi fares from Sundance to Provo are approximately $20-$30 one way.

• Hiking

  Once you have parked at the Stewart Falls Trailhead, the hike to the falls is about 2 miles one way. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Make sure to wear suitable hiking shoes, bring plenty of water, and allow about 2-3 hours for the round trip hike. The trail is moderately steep in some areas but is generally accessible for most fitness levels.
