Getting There

Car
If you're driving within Capitol Reef National Park, start on the scenic drive located off of UT-24. Follow the signs to the Hickman Bridge Trailhead, which is approximately 7 miles from the park entrance. You will see a parking area on your right for the Hickman Bridge Trailhead. The trailhead provides access to the Hickman Bridge hike, which is a moderate 2-mile round trip hike.

To reach the Rim Overlook, continue on the scenic drive past the Hickman Bridge Trailhead. The Rim Overlook trailhead is located about 10 miles from the park entrance. Look for a parking area on the left side of the road. The Rim Overlook hike is a short but steep 1-mile round trip trail offering stunning views of the park.

For the Navajo Knobs Trailhead, return to the scenic drive and head back towards the park entrance. After passing the Hickman Bridge Trailhead again, continue driving until you reach the parking area for the Navajo Knobs Trailhead, which is about 12 miles from the park entrance. The trail is a more challenging 4.8-mile round trip hike that provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
