Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the Torrey Town Hall located at 75 E 100 N. Head east on 100 N for about three blocks until you reach Main Street (Highway 24). Turn left (north) onto Main Street and walk for approximately 0.5 miles. You will pass several shops and restaurants. Continue north until you reach the junction with Highway 12. Cross the highway and continue walking on the paved shoulder along Highway 12 for about 1 mile until you see the signs for Capitol Reef National Park.

    Once you reach the entrance to Capitol Reef National Park, you will need to register at the visitor center if you plan to hike the Upper Muley Twist Canyon Trail. From the visitor center, continue along the park road until you reach the turn-off for the Burr Trail. This part of the trailhead is approximately 9 miles from the visitor center. If you do not have access to a bike or shuttle, consider reaching out to local tour services in Torrey for transportation options to the trailhead.
