If you are driving, start by getting onto US-191 N from any location in the Uinta Mountains. Follow US-191 N for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with UT-44. Take the exit for UT-44 toward Vernal/Jensen. Continue on UT-44 for about 10 miles. You will see signs for the Fossil Discovery Trail. Turn right onto Fossil Discovery Trail Road, and follow the road until you reach the parking area for the trailhead.

Public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, you can take a Greyhound or a local shuttle service to Vernal, UT. Once in Vernal, you can rent a car or find a taxi service to take you to the Fossil Discovery Trail. From Vernal, head north on US-191 for about 20 miles, then take UT-44 toward Jensen, following the same directions as the driving route to reach the trailhead.
