Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, navigate to the Quarry Visitor Center located at 11625 E 1500 S, Jensen, UT 84035. From the main roads in the Uinta Mountains, take Highway 191 towards Jensen. Once you reach Jensen, turn east onto 1500 S. Follow this road until you see the Quarry Visitor Center on your right. Parking is available on-site, and no fee is required to park.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in the Uinta Mountains. However, you can take a Greyhound or Amtrak bus to Vernal, UT. From Vernal, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to the Quarry Visitor Center, as there are no direct public transit routes. It's advisable to book your transportation in advance, and the approximate cost for a taxi from Vernal to the center is around $30-$50.

• Bicycle

  For those adventurous tourists wishing to bike, you can ride from nearby campgrounds or accommodations in the Uinta Mountains. The ride to the Quarry Visitor Center is approximately 5-10 miles depending on your starting point. Ensure you have a good map or GPS device as some areas may have limited signage. Prepare for a moderate ride, and carry plenty of water and snacks.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are located nearby, consider hiking to the Quarry Visitor Center.
