Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from any location in the Wasatch Range, begin by heading south on US-89 S. Continue on US-89 S for approximately 25 miles until you reach the junction with I-15. Merge onto I-15 S towards Provo and continue for around 10 miles. Take exit 260 for US-6 E towards Price. After about 16 miles, take the exit toward UT-189 S. Follow UT-189 S for around 8 miles, then turn right onto the road leading into Uinta National Forest. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the forest.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) bus system. From Salt Lake City, take the 455 bus to Provo Central Station. From there, transfer to the 801 bus towards Springville. Once you arrive in Springville, you may need to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach the Uinta National Forest entrance, which is approximately 15 miles away from the bus stop. Be prepared to pay for the rideshare service, which usually costs between $15 - $30 depending on the time of day.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and would like to bike to Uinta National Forest, start on the Provo River Trail. Make your way to Provo and head south on the trail until you reach the junction with US-89 S. Follow US-89 S to the junction with I-15 and then merge onto I-15 S. Continue as mentioned in the car guidance, but be cautious of traffic. Ensure your bike is equipped for road travel and take necessary safety precautions. Note that this route is about 40 miles one way, so plan for a full day of travel and carry plenty of water and snacks.
