For those using public transportation, start by taking a minibus (known locally as a 'marshrutka') from Qarshi to the village of Chimkurgan. Marshrutkas leave from various points in Qarshi, usually near the central market. The fare is approximately 5,000 UZS (Uzbek som). Once you arrive in Chimkurgan, you can either walk (about 3 kilometers) to the reservoir or hire a local taxi. Taxi fares in the area can vary but expect to pay around 15,000 UZS for a short ride to the reservoir.
