Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Tashkent Metro, take Line 1 (the red line) to the 'Mustakillik Maydoni' station. Upon exiting the station, head towards the main road (Mustakillik Square). Walk straight for about 5 minutes, keeping an eye out for the large fountains and greenery on either side. As you approach, you'll see the grand entrance to Independence Square right ahead.

From the Amir Timur Square, walk east along Islam Karimov Avenue. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the intersection with Mustakillik Square. Turn left and continue straight for another 5 minutes, and you’ll arrive at Independence Square. Look for the tall monument and fountains that mark the entrance.

Public Transport
If you're near the Chorsu Bazaar, you can take a bus or a tram towards the city center. Look for buses with the number '30' or trams heading towards 'Mustakillik Square'. Get off at the Mustakillik Square stop, and follow the signs towards Independence Square, which is just a short walk from the bus/tram stop.

If you are at the National Museum of Uzbekistan, exit the museum and head south towards the main road. Cross the road and walk straight for about 10 minutes. You will see Independence Square at the end of the road, marked by its lush gardens and the prominent monument.
