Car
If you have access to a car, drive towards Noane North Maewo. The Naone Waterfall is located approximately 10 kilometers from the nearest main road. Start by heading northwest from the main town of Nambas on Maewo Island. Follow the main road until you reach a fork; take the left fork and continue for about 5 kilometers. Watch for signs indicating Naone Waterfall, which will guide you along a dirt road that leads directly to the waterfall. Please note that the last stretch may require a 4WD vehicle due to rough terrain. Parking is available near the waterfall entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Naone Waterfall via public transportation, find a local bus or 'bush taxi' heading towards Noane North Maewo. These typically depart from Nambas and can be found near the central market. The fare is usually around 100-200 Vanuatu Vatu, depending on your negotiation skills. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for Naone Waterfall. Once you arrive at the designated drop-off point, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers along a marked trail to reach the waterfall. Be prepared for a scenic but rugged walk.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Naone North Maewo, you can simply walk to the waterfall. Look for local paths leading towards the waterfall, following the general direction of the coordinates (Latitude: -15.010071, Longitude: 168.0709283). The walk can be steep and challenging, so wear appropriate footwear and ensure you have enough water. Expect to spend about 30-45 minutes walking to the waterfall from nearby locations.
