Car
If you are driving a car, start from Luganville, the main town in Sanma. Head northwest on the main road (also known as the 'Luganville to Matevulu Road'). Continue straight for approximately 20 minutes until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork, which will lead you to the Matevulu Blue Hole area. Follow the road signs for 'Matevulu Blue Hole' and continue until you reach the entrance. There is a small parking area where you can leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation
To reach Matevulu Blue Hole via public transportation, take a local bus or minibus from Luganville. You can find buses near the market or main square. Look for buses heading towards 'Matevulu' or 'Blue Hole' and confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the blue hole entrance. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes, and the fare is usually around 200-300 Vanuatu Vatu per person. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the blue hole.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Matevulu Blue Hole and prefer walking, you can follow the local paths from nearby accommodations or landmarks. Ensure you have a map or ask locals for directions, as some paths may not be well-marked. The final walk to the blue hole from the main road is about 10-15 minutes through lush greenery.
