Car
If you are driving, start from the capital, Port Vila. Head north on the Southern Cross Road (also known as the main road) and follow the signs towards the Efate Ring Road. Continue along this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Tikilas. Look for the sign indicating the Taloa Marine Protected Area, which is located at the coordinates G98J+5G, Tikilas. There is a parking area nearby where you can leave your vehicle.
Public Transport
To reach Taloa Marine Protected Area using public transport, take a bus or minibus from Port Vila heading towards the northern part of Efate Island. Buses frequently depart from the main bus terminal in Port Vila. Inform the driver of your destination, Tikilas, and be prepared for a journey of about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Tikilas, ask for directions to the Taloa Marine Protected Area or follow signs to the park. It is advisable to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Walking from Tikilas
If you are already in Tikilas or arrive there by public transport, you can walk to the Taloa Marine Protected Area. From the main road in Tikilas, head towards the coast, following any available signs. The area is roughly a 15-minute walk from the village center. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, as the path may be uneven in some places. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
