From the main entrance of St. Peter's Basilica, walk straight into the basilica and head towards the center nave. Once you are inside, look for the large dome overhead. Continue walking straight until you reach the main altar. After you pass the altar, look for a small door on the right side that leads to the Vatican Grottoes. Enter through this door and follow the signs for the Scavi (Excavation) Tour.
