Walking
From the entrance of Vatican Necropolis, head south towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo. Once across, turn left and follow the riverbank. You will soon reach the junction with Via Appia Antica. Turn right onto Via Appia Antica, and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. The Santa Maria Nova Complex will be on your left at Via Appia Antica, 251.
Public Transport
From Vatican Necropolis, walk to the nearest bus stop at Piazza San Pietro. Take Bus 870 towards 'Cinecittà' and get off at the stop 'Appia Antica/Villa dei Quintili'. From the bus stop, walk approximately 300 meters along Via Appia Antica, and you will find the Santa Maria Nova Complex on your right at Via Appia Antica, 251.
Biking
If you are able to rent a bike, start at Vatican Necropolis and head towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue to the Tiber River and cross over via Ponte Sant'Angelo. Once across, make a left and keep cycling along the riverbank until you reach the junction with Via Appia Antica. Turn right onto Via Appia Antica and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers. The Santa Maria Nova Complex will be located on your left at Via Appia Antica, 251.
