Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Necropolis, head south towards the Via della Conciliazione. Turn left onto Via della Conciliazione and walk straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross over the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across, continue straight on Via di Sant'Angelo in Pescheria until you reach Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn right onto Via dei Fori Imperiali and continue walking. Trajan's Column will be on your left after approximately 15 minutes of walking.

From the Vatican Necropolis, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Piazza San Pietro. Take bus number 87 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, walk towards Via dei Fori Imperiali, which is directly accessible from Piazza Venezia. Trajan's Column will be about a 5-minute walk ahead on your right.

Start at the Vatican Necropolis and walk to the Ottaviano Metro Station, which is about a 15-minute walk. Take Metro Line A (the red line) towards 'Termini'. At the Termini station, transfer to Metro Line B (the blue line) towards 'Laurentina'. Get off at the 'Colosseo' station. From there, walk towards Via dei Fori Imperiali, and Trajan's Column will be approximately a 10-minute walk straight ahead.
