If you are traveling by car from Stowe Mountain Resort, start by heading south on Mountain Road (VT-108 S) towards Stowe Village. After approximately 3 miles, turn left onto Sterling Gorge Road. Continue on Sterling Gorge Road for about 1 mile, and you will find the Sterling Forest Trailhead on your left at 91 Sterling Gorge Rd. There is no parking fee at the trailhead, but be sure to follow any local parking regulations.

For those using public transportation, take the local Stowe Mountain Shuttle, which runs seasonally. Board the shuttle at designated stops around Stowe Mountain Resort. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Sterling Forest Trailhead. The shuttle will drop you off at or near the entrance to Sterling Gorge Road, from where you can walk about 0.5 miles to reach the trailhead.
