Car
If you are driving from the center of Waitsfield, head northwest on VT-100 N towards the Mad River Resort. Continue for approximately 4 miles until you reach Mad River Resort Rd. Turn left onto Mad River Resort Rd. The Stark Mountain Trail Trailhead will be located at 65 Mad River Resort Rd, Waitsfield, VT 05673. There is no parking fee at the trailhead, but make sure to follow any posted parking regulations.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Mad River Valley public shuttle, which operates seasonally. Board the shuttle at designated stops in Waitsfield. Request to get off at the Mad River Resort stop. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 0.5 miles) along Mad River Resort Rd to the Stark Mountain Trail Trailhead at 65 Mad River Resort Rd. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance as it may have limited hours.
