From any point in Orleans County, you can reach the Vermont State House located at 115 State St, Montpelier, VT 05633. If you are near Newport, take VT-105 E towards I-91 S. Merge onto I-91 S and continue for about 20 miles. Take exit 6 for US-2 W towards Montpelier. Follow US-2 W for approximately 30 miles, and then take a slight left onto State St. The Vermont State House will be on your left. Parking is available along State St and adjacent streets, but be mindful of any parking regulations.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Green Mountain Transit bus service from Newport to Montpelier. The bus departs from the Newport Transportation Center. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the service may not be frequent. The ride takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Montpelier Transportation Center, you can either walk (approximately 0.5 miles) or take a local taxi to reach the Vermont State House at 115 State St. Walking directions: head south on Main St, then turn left onto State St, and the State House will be on your left.
