Car
If you're traveling by car within Orleans County, head towards Stowe, VT. From the center of Orleans County, take VT-5 south for about 15 miles until you reach the junction with VT-100. Turn left onto VT-100 south and continue for approximately 8 miles. Then, turn right onto Luce Hill Road and follow it for about 1.5 miles until you reach Wiessner Woods, which is located on the left side of the road. There is usually ample parking available at the entrance.
Public Transportation
Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Wiessner Woods. Your best option is to take a local bus or shuttle service to Stowe. Check the local schedule for the nearest pickup point. Once in Stowe, you may need to use a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance of approximately 2 miles to Wiessner Woods. Ensure to plan ahead as public transport schedules may vary, and confirm any costs associated with the taxi or rideshare.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, Wiessner Woods can be reached by bike from various locations in Orleans County. If you're coming from the town of Newport, take the bike paths along Lake Memphremagog heading south until you reach the junction with VT-5. Follow the same directions as above from that junction. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws while biking.
Walking
If you are already in Stowe and prefer to walk, you can start from the Stowe Village area. Head south on Main Street, which eventually turns into VT-100. Continue walking for about 2 miles until you reach Luce Hill Road. Turn left and walk for about 1.5 miles to reach Wiessner Woods. This is a scenic route, but be prepared for a substantial walk, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
