From Sugarbush Resort, head northeast on Main St toward Sugarbush Access Rd (about 0.5 miles). Turn left onto Sugarbush Access Rd and continue for 1.5 miles. Merge onto VT-100 N and stay on this road for approximately 7 miles. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Ripton'. After about 7 miles, turn left onto Ripton Rd. Continue on Ripton Rd for about 3.5 miles until you reach the entrance to Breadloaf Wilderness, which will be on your left. There is no entrance fee for the park.
Public Transportation
From Sugarbush Resort, take the local shuttle or bus service to the nearest bus station. Inquire about routes that head towards Middlebury or Ripton as these towns are closest to Breadloaf Wilderness. Once you reach the Middlebury bus station, you will need to catch a taxi or rideshare service to Breadloaf Wilderness (approximately a 15-minute drive). Note that taxi fares may vary, so it is advisable to confirm the price with the driver beforehand.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can bike from Sugarbush Resort to Breadloaf Wilderness. Start by taking Main St northeast and then Sugarbush Access Rd for about 1.5 miles. After that, you will merge onto VT-100 N and bike for approximately 7 miles before turning left onto Ripton Rd. The total distance is about 12 miles one way. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. Carrying water and snacks is recommended as there are limited stops along the way.
