Car
From Sugarbush Resort, head south on Vermont Route 100 toward Waitsfield. Continue for approximately 5.5 miles. Turn left onto Battleground Road (look for signs for the Phen Basin Trailhead). After about 1 mile, you will arrive at the Phen Basin Trailhead, located at 4606 Battleground Rd, Waitsfield, VT 05673. There is no parking fee at the trailhead.
Public Transportation
Start by taking the Mad Bus from Sugarbush Resort to Waitsfield. The bus service operates seasonally, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Waitsfield, you will need to walk or use a rideshare service to reach the Phen Basin Trailhead. Head south on Main Street, then turn left onto Battleground Road. The trailhead is approximately 1.5 miles from the bus stop, so be prepared for a walk. Note that there may be a small fare for the bus, typically around $2.
