Authentic Cai Rang Floating Market Tour Without the Tourist Rush

We did a 3-hour boat tour to the Cai Rang floating market and had a really great time. Nga was a fantastic local guide who made the whole experience feel relaxed and authentic. She timed the trip perfectly so we arrived after the big tourist rush, which made everything much calmer and more enjoyable. We visited a small local noodle factory which was very interesting to see, and it never felt pushy or like a typical tourist stop. At the market we tried delicious Vietnamese coffee, pho, fresh fruit and even got some chips directly from the boats. The whole tour felt very unhurried and personal, and Nga clearly knew the best spots and people along the river. Highly recommended if you want to experience the floating market in a relaxed and authentic way.

The first two days, especially the cruise part was wonderful. The third day was successful in that we got to Cambodia and through immigration without issue but the tour operators could provide better description to set expectations. While the 3rd day experience was enlightening and entertaining in some respects, it wasn’t really much focused on the Mekong and it probably wasn’t the most efficient immigration crossing
