Getting There

  • Car

    If you have a rental car, start from the center of Cat Ba Island. Drive towards the ferry terminal and take the ferry to Tuan Chau Island. Once on Tuan Chau Island, follow the signs to Highway 18 and head towards Uong Bi City. Continue on Highway 18 for about 30 km until you reach the entrance of Yen Tu Mountain, which is located in Thượng Yên Công, Uông Bí. The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Note that parking fees may apply at the base of the mountain.

  • Bus

    Take a local bus from Cat Ba Island to Hai Phong. Buses leave regularly from Cat Ba Town and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Hai Phong, transfer to a bus heading to Uong Bi. These buses are frequent and the journey to Uong Bi will take around 1 hour. When you arrive in Uong Bi, you can take a taxi or a local motorbike taxi to the entrance of Yen Tu Mountain, which is approximately 10 km away. Expect to pay a small fee for both the bus and taxi services.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer more comfort, you can hire a taxi from Cat Ba Island directly to Yen Tu Mountain. This option is the most convenient but also the most expensive. The taxi will take you to the ferry terminal, where you will cross to Tuan Chau Island, and then continue driving on Highway 18 to Yen Tu Mountain. The total trip will take about 2-2.5 hours, and you should discuss the fare with the driver before beginning your journey. Be prepared for the ferry cost as well.
