Car
If you are driving a car or renting one, start from Cat Ba Town. Head south on Nguyễn Văn Trỗi Street towards Trần Phú Street. Continue straight onto the road leading to the eastern part of the island. Follow the signs for Cannon Fort (Pháo Đài) for approximately 3 km. The road will lead you up a hill, and you will find the entrance to Cannon Fort on your left. Parking is available near the entrance, and there is a small fee of about 10,000 VND for parking.

Public Transportation
From Cat Ba Town, you can take a local bus or a motorbike taxi (xe ôm) to Cannon Fort. If taking the bus, locate the central bus station in Cat Ba Town. Buses to Cannon Fort leave regularly; the fare is typically around 15,000 VND. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to Cannon Fort, and they will drop you off at the entrance. For a motorbike taxi, negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 30,000 VND for a one-way trip.

If you enjoy hiking, you can walk to Cannon Fort from Cat Ba Town. Start at the main square and follow the path through the residential area. Continue uphill towards the fort, which is approximately a 45-minute walk. The path is steep in some parts, so wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the scenic views along the way. There is no cost for walking, but be prepared with water and snacks.
