If you are driving or have rented a car, head towards Cần Giờ district in Ho Chi Minh City. From central Ho Chi Minh City, take Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh Street, which will merge into Võ Văn Kiệt Avenue. Follow signs towards Rạch Dơi and then Cần Giờ. The drive takes approximately 2 hours. Upon reaching Cần Giờ, follow signs to Long Hòa. Continue on ĐT 973 until you reach the ferry terminal at Bến Đình. Park your car here and take a ferry to Monkey Island. The ferry ride costs around 30,000 VND per person and takes about 15 minutes.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach Monkey Island using public transportation, take a bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Cần Giờ. Bus number 20 departs from the Mien Dong Bus Station. After about 1.5 hours, get off at the Cần Giờ bus station. From there, take a taxi or a local minibus to the ferry terminal at Bến Đình. The ferry to Monkey Island costs about 30,000 VND and takes around 15 minutes.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Ho Chi Minh City directly to Monkey Island. This option is more expensive, with fares ranging from 800,000 VND to 1,200,000 VND depending on your starting point and traffic conditions. Make sure to ask the driver to take you to Bến Đình ferry terminal, and then take the ferry across to Monkey Island.
