Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Hanoi, take National Highway 1A towards Lạng Sơn. Once you reach Lạng Sơn city, follow signs to Route 1B heading to Bắc Sơn District. Continue on Route 1B for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Bắc Sơn. From there, follow local signs to Quỳnh Sơn. The total drive from Hanoi to Bac Son Valley is approximately 160 kilometers and takes about 3-4 hours depending on traffic.

• Public Bus

  To travel by public bus from Hanoi, go to the Mỹ Đình Bus Station and take a bus to Lạng Sơn. The bus ride takes approximately 3-4 hours and costs around 100,000 VND (approximately $4). Once in Lạng Sơn, find a local bus or a taxi to take you to Bắc Sơn District. The local bus to Bắc Sơn typically departs from the Lạng Sơn central bus station and costs around 30,000 VND ($1.30). The bus journey from Lạng Sơn to Bắc Sơn takes about 1 hour.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route after reaching Lạng Sơn, you can take a taxi from the bus station to Bac Son Valley. This option is more expensive, costing around 500,000 VND ($22) for the trip, and will take about 1 hour. Make sure to agree on the fare before the journey.

• Motorbike Rental

  For the adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Lạng Sơn is a great option. Rental shops are available around the bus station; expect to pay around 150,000 VND ($6.50) per day. After renting, follow the same route as the car travelers via Route 1B to Bắc Sơn District. Ensure you have a valid driver's license and wear a helmet.
