Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from Northeast Vietnam, begin your journey by taking National Route 1A south towards Hanoi. After approximately 160 km, follow signs for Hanoi City Center. Once you reach Hoàn Kiếm District, navigate toward P. Hàng Ngang and P. Hàng Đào, where you will find the Hanoi Old Quarter. Parking may be limited in the area, so consider using public parking facilities nearby.

• Bus

  To reach Hanoi Old Quarter by bus, head to the nearest bus station in your area. Look for buses heading to Hanoi, such as the 'G5' or 'Khai Thác' buses, which frequently operate from Northeast provinces. The journey may take around 4-6 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Hanoi, take a local bus (Line 01 or 02) or a taxi to the Old Quarter, specifically to P. Hàng Ngang or P. Hàng Đào. Bus fare is typically around 30,000 VND.

• Train

  For a scenic route, consider taking the train from your nearest railway station to Hanoi. Choose a train heading to Hanoi Railway Station. The journey can take between 6 to 8 hours. Once you arrive at Hanoi Railway Station, take a taxi or a Grab car to the Old Quarter. The fare should be around 50,000 to 100,000 VND depending on traffic conditions.

• Motorbike

  For adventurous travelers, renting a motorbike can be a great way to explore the region. Rent a motorbike in your local area and travel south on National Route 1A towards Hanoi. Upon entering the city, follow signs to Hoàn Kiếm District. Parking is available, but be prepared to navigate through busy streets. Ensure you have proper safety gear and an international driving permit.
