Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Tân Trạch in Bố Trạch District, Quang Binh Province. From major cities like Dong Hoi, take National Route 1A southbound for about 50 km until you reach the turnoff for Tân Trạch. Follow the signs for Hang Sơn Đoòng. Note that parking is available at the entrance to the national park, but a parking fee may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Hang Sơn Đoòng via public transportation, start by taking a bus from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha. The bus ride typically lasts around 1 hour. Buses leave frequently from the Dong Hoi Bus Station. Once you arrive in Phong Nha, you can take a taxi or a local motorbike taxi to Tân Trạch. The fare should be around 100,000 VND to 150,000 VND. Make sure to confirm your destination with the driver, as they may not be fluent in English.

Once you arrive at Tân Trạch, you will need to hike approximately 3 km to reach the entrance of the cave. The trail is well-marked, but it's advisable to wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
