From Tam Dao, take the main road (QL2) heading south towards Hanoi. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the intersection with QL32. Turn left onto QL32 and drive for about 20 km. Look for signs indicating Sơn Tây. Once you arrive in Sơn Tây, follow Hoàng Diệu street, and the Sơn Tây Old Citadel will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a small fee.

Public Transportation
From Tam Dao, head to the main bus station and catch a bus heading to Hanoi (you can ask locals for the current bus schedule). The journey will take about 1 hour. In Hanoi, transfer to a bus heading to Sơn Tây. Buses to Sơn Tây are frequent and cost approximately 30,000 VND. Once you reach Sơn Tây, get off at the bus stop near Hoàng Diệu street. The Sơn Tây Old Citadel is a short walk from the bus stop, about 500 meters straight ahead on Hoàng Diệu street.
