Getting There

• Bus

  From Hanoi's city center, head to the My Dinh Bus Station. You can take a taxi or a Grab to get there. Once at the bus station, look for buses heading to Sơn Tây. They are usually marked clearly. The bus ride will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. When you arrive at Sơn Tây, you can take a local taxi or Grab to Dong Mo Lake, which is approximately 10 km away from the bus station. Just show the driver the destination on your phone or tell them 'Hồ Đồng Mô'.

• Train

  Make your way to Hanoi Railway Station, which is located in the city center. Purchase a ticket for the train heading to Sơn Tây. The train ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Sơn Tây station, exit and look for a local taxi or Grab. The distance from the train station to Dong Mo Lake is about 10 km, so just inform the driver of your destination.

• Motorbike Taxi (Xe Ôm)

  For a more adventurous route, you can use a motorbike taxi service. Use a ride-hailing app like Grab or GoJek. Input 'Hồ Đồng Mô' as your destination. The driver will pick you up from your location in Hanoi and take you directly to Dong Mo Lake. This option provides a quicker and more flexible way to reach your destination, taking about 1 hour depending on traffic.

• Bicycle rental

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the scenery, consider renting a bicycle. Many rental shops are available in Hanoi. You can head towards Sơn Tây by following the scenic routes through the countryside. The journey will take several hours, but you will be rewarded with beautiful views along the way. Once you reach Sơn Tây, you can ask locals for directions to Dong Mo Lake, which is about 10 km away.
