Walking
From the center of Blacksburg, start at the intersection of Main Street and College Avenue. Head northwest on College Avenue for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with West Roanoke Street. Turn right onto West Roanoke Street and continue for about 0.2 miles until it merges into Smithfield Plantation Road. Follow Smithfield Plantation Road for approximately 1.5 miles. You'll find Smith Plantation on your left at 24060 Smithfield Plantation Rd. The plantation is a short walk from the road, so keep an eye out for the entrance.

Begin at the Blacksburg Transit bus station located at 1600 S Main St. Take the bus route 43 (Smithfield) towards the Smithfield area. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Smithfield Plantation stop. From the bus stop, it's a short walk south down Smithfield Plantation Road to reach the plantation entrance, which is located at 24060 Smithfield Plantation Rd.
