Start at the Charlottesville Downtown Transit Station located at 615 E Water St. Take the Route 7 bus towards 'Monticello', which operates frequently throughout the day. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Monticello Visitor Center'. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk. Head north on Thomas Jefferson Parkway (VA-53) for about 0.7 miles, then take a left onto an unnamed road. Continue walking straight until you reach Blue Ridge Sanitarium, which will be on your left.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the Downtown Mall. Once you have your bike, head southeast on E Main St toward 4th St NE, then turn left onto 4th St NE. Continue to follow the road as it becomes 5th St SW. After about 1 mile, turn right onto Thomas Jefferson Parkway (VA-53). Continue for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn left onto an unnamed road where Blue Ridge Sanitarium is located.

After about 1 mile, turn left onto Thomas Jefferson Parkway (VA-53). Walk for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto the unnamed road where Blue Ridge Sanitarium is located. The walk will take approximately 45 minutes and will offer you a chance to see local shops and parks along the way.
