Start at the Chesapeake City Hall. Walk to the nearest bus stop and board the HRT Bus Route 1 or Route 15 heading towards Norfolk. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes (approximately 10 stops) until you reach the Great Bridge Shopping Center. Get off the bus and walk east on Battlefield Blvd S for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Great Bridge Battlefield entrance. The battlefield will be on your left.

If you're near the Greenbrier area, start at the Greenbrier Mall. From there, take the bike path along the Elizabeth River Trail heading southeast. Continue for about 2 miles, and then turn left onto Battlefield Blvd S. Follow Battlefield Blvd S for another mile until you reach the Great Bridge Battlefield. The entrance will be on your right.
