Bus
To get to Old Rag Mountain from downtown Harrisonburg, walk to the nearest JMU bus stop and take the JMU Campus Bus Line towards the JMU Convocation Center. Get off at the last stop, and transfer to the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport Shuttle. This shuttle will take you towards the area of Old Rag Mountain. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the Old Rag trailhead, which is usually along Route 600.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local shop in Harrisonburg. Start from downtown and head southeast on S High St. Turn left onto E Market St and continue onto US-33 E. Follow US-33 E for about 10 miles. Then, turn onto Route 600 and follow the signs to Old Rag Mountain. The road can be winding, so be cautious while biking.
Walking (to the nearest shuttle stop)
If you are near downtown Harrisonburg, you can walk to the nearest shuttle stop for Old Rag Mountain. Head east on E Market St toward S Main St, then turn left onto S Main St. Walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the bus stop at the JMU Convocation Center. From there, catch the shuttle towards Old Rag. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance.
