Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car from Williamsburg, take the Colonial Parkway. Head southeast on the Parkway, which is a scenic drive. Continue for about 15 miles until you reach the Yorktown exit. Take the exit toward Yorktown and merge onto Colonial National Historical Parkway. After approximately 2 miles, you will see the signs for Yorktown Battlefield. There is parking available at the visitor center.

    From Jamestown, take the Colonial Parkway heading northeast. Continue for about 20 miles. Upon reaching the Yorktown exit, take the ramp toward Yorktown, merging onto Colonial National Historical Parkway. Drive for about 2 miles, and follow the signs to Yorktown Battlefield, where you can find parking at the visitor center.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Williamsburg to Yorktown. Check for the services provided by the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA). The bus route will take you to the nearest drop-off point to Yorktown. After disembarking, it's a short walk to the battlefield, following signs that direct you to the visitor center.
