Getting There

• Car

  From Luray Caverns, head south on US-211 W for approximately 1.5 miles. Continue straight when the road merges onto VA-342 S for about 1 mile. Then, turn left onto Skyline Drive. Follow Skyline Drive for about 5 miles until you reach Buck Hollow Overlook, located on your right. Be sure to look for signs indicating the overlook.

• Public Transportation

  While there is no direct public transportation to Buck Hollow Overlook, you can take a local bus service to Luray. From the bus stop in Luray, you will need to use a taxi or a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Buck Hollow Overlook. The taxi ride is approximately 10-15 minutes and will cost around $15 to $25 depending on traffic and the service used.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike in Luray and head south on US-211 W. After about 1.5 miles, you will turn left onto Skyline Drive. The ride will take you through scenic views and is approximately 6 miles to Buck Hollow Overlook. Make sure you are prepared for hilly terrain and have adequate supplies with you.

• Walking

  Walking from Luray Caverns to Buck Hollow Overlook is not recommended due to the distance and lack of sidewalks along US-211. If you must walk, take US-211 S for about 1.5 miles before turning onto Skyline Drive. However, it will be a long walk (approximately 2 hours) and may not be safe due to traffic.
