Car
From any location in Middle Peninsula, take US-17 South towards Gloucester. Continue on US-17 South for approximately 30 miles until you reach the intersection with VA-164 East. Take VA-164 East, which will lead you onto the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. After crossing the bridge-tunnel, follow signs for US-13 South towards Virginia Beach. Merge onto I-264 East towards Virginia Beach. Continue on I-264 until you reach the exit for Shore Drive (Exit 22). Turn right onto Shore Drive, and continue for about 2 miles. First Landing State Park will be on your right at 2500 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Parking is available for a fee; please check the park’s website for current rates.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, start by taking a Greyhound or Megabus from Middle Peninsula to Norfolk, VA. Once you arrive at the Norfolk bus terminal, transfer to the local bus service (HRT - Hampton Roads Transit). Take the bus route that goes to Virginia Beach. You will need to get off at the stop closest to Shore Drive. From there, it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to First Landing State Park located at 2500 Shore Dr. Be sure to check the HRT website for the latest bus schedules and fares, as costs may vary.
