    If you are in downtown Petersburg, start at the intersection of Sycamore St and Market St. Head north on Market St towards the Appomattox River. Continue straight for about 0.8 miles until you reach the riverfront. Once there, you can follow the signs directing you to the Canal Walk in Richmond. It is approximately a 25-minute walk.

    Public Transit

    From Petersburg, head to the nearest bus stop at the Petersburg Transit Center located at 100 W Washington St. Take the GRTC bus route 1 (Petersburg to Richmond) towards Richmond. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop at Broad St and 5th St in Richmond. From there, walk east on Broad St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Canal Walk.
