    Start at the Petersburg Visitor Center located at 100 River Street. Head northeast on River Street toward E Washington Street. Turn left onto E Washington Street and continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with S Sycamore Street. Turn right onto S Sycamore Street and walk for about 0.3 miles. You will cross the Appomattox River. Continue straight onto US-1 N / S Sycamore Street for approximately 0.8 miles until you reach the intersection with E Broad Street. Turn left onto E Broad Street and follow it for about 3 miles, crossing into Richmond. The James River Park will be on your right at 1630-1600 E Byrd St. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the park.

    From the Petersburg Visitor Center at 100 River Street, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of River Street and E Washington Street. Take the GRTC bus #1 (Broad Street) towards Richmond. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop for E Broad St and 14th St. Walk east on E Broad Street for about 0.2 miles, then turn right onto 14th St. After a short walk, you will reach the entrance of James River Park located at 1630-1600 E Byrd St.
