To get to Old Rag Mountain from downtown Harrisonburg, walk to the nearest JMU bus stop and take the JMU Campus Bus Line towards the JMU Convocation Center. Get off at the last stop, and transfer to the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport Shuttle. This shuttle will take you towards the area of Old Rag Mountain. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the Old Rag trailhead, which is usually along Route 600.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local shop in Harrisonburg. Start from downtown and head southeast on S High St. Turn left onto E Market St and continue onto US-33 E.
