From downtown Roanoke, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Roanoke Valley Transit bus number 15, heading towards Bedford. The bus will take you along US-460 toward Bedford. Once you arrive at the Bedford bus station, you will need to walk to the Peaks of Otter Lodge, which is about 3.5 miles away. You can use ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft from the bus station to reach the lodge directly.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from a local bike rental service in Roanoke. Head towards the Blue Ridge Parkway via the Greenways Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Blue Ridge Parkway. Continue along the Parkway for approximately 10 miles until you see the Peaks of Otter Lodge on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all safety rules while cycling.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route through the local parks. Start at the Mill Mountain Park in Roanoke and enjoy the trails leading towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. This route will take you about 5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and pack enough water and snacks. Follow the signs towards the Blue Ridge Parkway and once you reach the parkway, continue until you see the Peaks of Otter Lodge. This is a longer journey, but you will experience beautiful landscapes along the way.
